Workshop: Understanding Microaggressions and Fostering Belonging in the University Context
This interactive workshop is designed to provide university staff with a deeper understanding of microaggressions and belonging in the academic workplace. Its aim is to raise awareness of cultural differences and to promote open, respectful, and effective collaboration across the university community.
Participants will explore subtle forms of microaggressions that can occur in everyday university life – for example in relation to language, names, cultural background, religion, or physical appearance. The workshop encourages participants to broaden their perspective and recognize underlying patterns, enabling them to transfer their insights to a wide range of professional situations.
Target group: approx. 10–15 staff members of Friedrich Schiller University Jena as well as partners from EC2U universities
Date: 29 May 2026, 9am -1pm
