Programme content

If you are interested in the German language and literature, the German teaching degree programme is the right choice for you. In literary studies , you will gain an overview of key literary epochs, authors and their texts, basic analytical techniques and literary theory. In linguistics, you will acquire systematic knowledge ranging from linguistic sounds and grammatical structures to the entire text and conversation as well as language change. In German didactics, key issues relating to the planning, implementation and reflection of German lessons are discussed. Unique in Germany in this form are cooperative events between didactics and literary and linguistic studies, in which didactic issues are addressed from a didactic perspective with a view to school practice.

Structure

You complete the teacher training programme at the University of Jena with the First State Examination. The standard period of study|regular programme length is ten semesters in total, during which various types of courses (e.g. seminars, lectures or tutorials) are offered for the individual modules.
