Applications as a student research group

IThis year, for the first time, student research groups comprising two to four students are invited to apply for funding for a research project within the Honours Programme.?
The research group may apply to the programme with one or two supervising professors or experienced postdocs (postdocs should have been conducting research for a further two years since completing their PhD).
Upon acceptance, each member of the research group will receive €1,000 for research-related material and travel expenses. A further €1,000 may also be applied for to cover group-related activities (e.g. research trips).?

How do you apply as a student research group?

Each group member should submit their application individually, including all supporting documents. When applying via the application portal, please indicate in the form that you are applying as part of a research group. Please also enter the name of your research group there. The research project proposal should be drafted jointly by the student members of the research group, in consultation with the supervisors, and signed by all members.

When does the application period start?

Applications can be submitted this year from 30 March to 27 April 2026 via the University of Jena¡¯s application portal.
