Looking back, I would have loved to know more in advance about the university sports program and how the registration process works. It is a great opportunity, but some prior information would have made it much easier to get started.

It also would have been nice to know that, for students, the cinemas at Markt and Schillerhof as well as the theatre are freeExternal link from Monday to Thursday. This is an amazing benefit that I only discovered later.

When it comes to bars, I would definitely recommend?Immergrün,?Off-Bar,?Theatercafé, and?Grünowski. For eating out,?Yasmine?is a must – in my opinion, the best Asian restaurant ever.?Fritz Mitte?is also essential; their fries are, without a doubt, the best I have ever had. For breakfast or a relaxed coffee,?Stilbruch?and?Café Limette und Minze?are great choices.

In terms of sightseeing and nature, you should absolutely go hiking to the Fuchsturm,?Kunitzburg,?Lobdeburg,?Jenzig,?Napoleonstein, and?Landgrafen. The views are breathtaking. The?Saale Horizontale is also perfect for long walks and enjoying nature.

Compared to Romania, studying medicine in Jena feels much more relaxed and efficient. The lecturers put an incredible amount of effort into their teaching. In many lectures, patients are brought in so that you can learn about diseases directly and practically, which is extremely valuable.

Finally, the food at the MensaExternal link is excellent, very affordable, and especially convenient in the city. I can highly recommend it.
