Mental health and mental balance are important requirements for our well-being and life satisfaction in all phases of life. A great deal can be achieved in this respect at municipal level, as mental health is a cross-sectoral, cross-cutting issue. In addition to traditional health promotion measures, other municipal projects also contribute indirectly: family-friendly urban development, inclusive educational opportunities or neighbourhood initiatives to strengthen social networks. There are both overarching and target group-specific measures, for example for children of mentally ill parents, older people experiencing loneliness or young people growing up in harassing social circumstances.
The 7th Competence Forum of the Healthy Cities Network invites students and researchers on 22 and 23 September 2025 to learn about and exchange information on current scientific approaches and best practice examples in mental health promotion.
You can look forward to:
- Impulses from experts on mental health across all phases of life
- Municipal practical examples
- Interactive forums and workshops with practical approaches
- Opportunities for dialogue and networking
The 7th Competence Forum 2025 in Jena is being held in close cooperation with the neighbouring municipalities of Weimar, Erfurt and Gera.
