On the basis of the DAAD KIWi Compass ‘ No Red Lines’External link?and more than five years of consulting experience and expertise, the DAAD KIWi now offers a checklist for practical implementation and structured risk assessment. The focus is on research cooperation and knowledge security. Ultimately, the checklist aims to examine and reflect on security-related dimensions of international academic cooperation; it can be used individually as a self-assessment tool or integrated into the institutional review and coordination process.
The checklist contains 17 questions covering four areas:
- Partners and financing,
- export control regulations,
- Exploitation of results and intellectual property rights, and
- Scientific ethical implications of academic cooperation.
This addresses the risk dimensions identified by the German German Council of Science and HumanitiesExternal link .
The DAAD KIWi intends to make an English version available in the near future.
