Conditions of participation in the competition "Uni Jena - City Cycling Jena 2025"

1 Subject of the conditions of participation and organiser

(1) These conditions of participation regulate the conditions for participation in the competition "Uni Jena - City Cycling Jena 2025" as well as any necessary transfer of rights. The description and procedure of the respective competition will be published on this website and on the Instagram page of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (@unijena).

(2) The competition is organised by the Green Office of Friedrich Schiller University, Fürstengraben 1, 07743 Jena.

(3) By participating in the competition, these conditions of participation are accepted.

(4) The competition is not affiliated with Instagram and is neither sponsored, supported nor organised by Instagram.

2 Participation

(1) Anyone over the age of 18 who is a member or affiliates of Friedrich Schiller University Jena and has registered for the Jena 2025 City Cycle for Team "Friedrich Schiller University" is eligible to take part in the competition. Participation with falsified identities or with identities of third parties is not permitted. Friedrich Schiller University Jena reserves the right to exclude participants who violate these conditions of participation from the competition. All persons involved in the conception and realisation of the competition are not eligible to participate in the competition.

(2) Eligible participants can take part in the competition by writing an email to nachhaltigkeit@uni-jena.de and attaching a screenshot or similar that clearly shows that the eligible participant is a member of the "Friedrich-Schiller-University" team in Jena 2025 City Cycling.

(3) Participation is possible until 31 August 2025, 23:59 CET . Entries received after the closing date will not be considered in the draw.

3 Prizes and prize notification

(1) All eligible participants will be entered into a prize draw to win 3x1 coding of their own bike, which will be carried out by ADFC Jena-Saaletal e.V.

(2) The winners will be selected by drawing lots from all eligible participants in week 36. The winners will be notified by e-mail and asked to provide their real name by e-mail to nachhaltigkeit@uni-jena.de.

(3) If the winner does not respond within three working days of receipt of the prize notification, the claim to the prize shall lapse.

(4) Only one prize is possible per participant.

(5) The prize is not transferable, nor can the prize be exchanged or paid out in cash.

(6) If the prize offered cannot or can no longer be handed over to the winner and we are not responsible for this circumstance, the respective winner accepts an appropriate replacement prize. Circumstances for which we are not responsible are in particular those for which the sponsors of the prizes are responsible.

4 Granting of rights of use

(1) In the event of winning, the participant agrees that film and photo recordings of his/her person may be processed for the public relations work of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, in particular for the websites of the University of Jena and social media. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

(2) Consent can be withdrawn at any time without giving reasons. The revocation relates to the future use and does not affect the legality of the previous use. The revocation must be sent in writing to Green Office of the University of Jena, Fürstengraben 1, 07743 Jena, nachhaltigkeit@uni-jena.de.

(3) By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that we may use his/her name for advertising purposes.

5 Exclusion

(1) Any violation of these conditions of participation entitles us to exclude the respective participant from participation. This applies in particular if the participant provides false information or uses photos or other content that violates applicable law or the rights of third parties. The same applies to content that could be regarded as glorifying violence, offensive, harassing or degrading or otherwise offends social decency.

(2) If the excluded participant is a winner who has already been drawn, the prize may be subsequently cancelled.

6 Premature termination and changes

We reserve the right to prematurely terminate the competition in whole or in part at any time, even without observing deadlines, or to change its course if it is not possible to guarantee the proper execution of the competition for technical (e.g. computer virus, manipulation of or errors in software/hardware) or legal reasons (e.g. prohibition by Instagram).

7. Data protection

We are responsible for the collection, processing and use of participants' personal data if we process it ourselves. We will only use the participant's personal details and other personal data in accordance with the legal|according to law|statutory data protection regulations. We will only store, process and use the information insofar as this is necessary for the realisation of the competition or with the consent of the participant. This also includes use for exercising the rights of use granted. The data will be used exclusively for the realisation of the competition and then deleted.

8 Final provisions

(1) Should the conditions of participation contain invalid provisions, the validity of the remaining conditions shall remain unaffected.

(2) German law applies. Legal recourse to review the draw is excluded.

(3) The generic masculine chosen in the conditions of participation is to be understood as gender-neutral in the sense of linguistic simplification and persons of all sex|genders are equally included.
